Benilde Hive, the first accredited lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer, intersex and asexual (LGBTQIA+)-oriented student organization of the De La Salle-College of Saint Benilde, organized a march with students, faculty and members of the LGBTQIA+ community to commemorate the international Pride Month.
Called “Spreading Love with Color,” in celebration of the Benilde Pride Week 2019, the parade saw rainbow banners, streamers and flags to showcase their different identities and is a big step towards the advocacy to call for equal rights and to end the discrimination against the members of the LGBTQIA+ community.
This demonstration was also in observance of the 50th anniversary of the Stonewall uprising, the event which encouraged the modern gay rights movement.
