Despite the continued rise in the water level of Angat Dam, Manila Water on Thursday announced that water service interruption in Metro Manila will still persist.
Manila Water spokesperson Jean Aurelio said Angat is still under its minimum operating level requirement of 180 meters.
The east zone concessionaire has called on the public for understanding and advised consumers to conserve water.
Angat Dam, the main water source of Metro Manila, stood at 161.86 meters on Thursday morning, a slight rise from 161.08m reported on Wednesday. On 22 June, Angat fell below the critical level of 160m.
Maynilad also issued a similar announcement.
“Maynilad will only be able to lift the daily water service interruptions once it receives the appropriate raw water allocation from Angat Dam,” stated Maynilad’s Facebook post.
Manila Water handles the East Zone (parts of Metro Manila and Rizal) while Maynilad services the West (parts of Metro Manila and Cavite).
