Team Eaglemasters displayed its fiery form to rule the first leg of the 11th Phoenix Open recently at the Rancho Palos Verdes Golf and Country Club in Davao City.
Navales and Bajo were also hailed as Overall Net Champion and Overall Gross Champion, respectively
Composed of Junie Sotto, Lando Cachuela, Philips Idulsa, Johan Dalmacio and Ralph Garcia, the Eaglemasters scored 170 points to emerge victorious in this prestigious annual event bankrolled by Phoenix Petroleum Philippines.
The Eaglemasters outshone Team Boracuyz of Louie Brodeth, Mayong Pillerin, Ting Castillo, King Rivas and Andy Ugdaracion and Team Salami of Wendell Adlao, Jerico Bajo, Jing Tan, Addy Briones and Brian Davila, who scored 166 and 165 to settle for the second and third places, respectively.
Arnold Navales and Jomari Amador tallied 93 to emerge as champions in Partner Division after dominating the pairs of Isaclo Diroy and Fedinand Rondina (82) and Glen Yap and Sherwin Bahani (81).
Navales and Bajo were also hailed as Overall Net Champion and Overall Gross Champion, respectively.
In the Individual Division, Roderick Lo bagged the Gross Champion title in Class A while Jun Pedro emerged victorious in Class B. Wendell Yap was named Net Champion in Class A while Joe Tesado won the same award in Class B.
Winners received a Royal Selangor Pewter Plate and Phoenix Petroleum fuel cards while champions were given additional supply of limited edition Phoenix signature golf bags.
The next two legs of this competition will be held at the Cebu Country Club in Cebu City in June and The Country Club in Sta. Rosa, Laguna in September.
