2 Korean illegal miners nabbed

The National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) environmental crime division over the weekend arrested 19 persons including two Korean nationals, after they were caught while in the act of illegally quarrying sand in two separate areas in Pampanga province.

NBI director Dante Gierran, identified the arrested Koreans as Gi Man Lee and Jeong Sun Mi, who were the alleged operators of the quarrying firm Sammi Vibro.

The two were arrested along with John Paul Sumat, Jory Sabacan, Alberto Lingad and Joseph de Leon.

They, along with Sandy Vosotros, Alex Basilio, Fernando Tomas, Tyron Manalo, Mark Glen Reyes and Lamix Abogan were all apprehended in Barangay Dolores, Bacolor, Pampanga.
