Accomplished Filipino-Americans feted at 8th TOFA

A master pianist, a Pulitzer winner and a renowned basketball coach are some of the honorees at this year’s The Outstanding Filipinos in America (TOFA) held at the Carnegie Hall in New York on 27 October.

BOY Abunda returned to host the 8th edition of TOFA in New York.

Cecile Licad, NBA coach Erik Spoelstra and Pulitzer Prize winner Mariel Padilla are among the honorees that made a mark in the United States. They join Joji Juele Jalandoni, Corazon Tamargo Rivera, Vivian Talambiras Cruz, Leonora Galleros, Roseminda Santee, Marc Anthony Nicolas, Alexis Monsanto, DHaven, Allan Mendez, Jannelle So, Nicolas Caraquel, Bima Baje and Maria Torres Springer.

CORAZON Rivera (center) is a multi-awarded real estate professional with a career that spans over 30 years.

The distinguished list is a group of Filipino Americans who have made a mark in their profession, advocacy and community involvement that bring honor to Filipinos in the United States. TOFA was held in celebration of the Filipino American History Month.
