Bol-anons urge SAP Bong Go to run for senator

Members of the Sangguniang Kabataan and Liga ng mga Barangay of Bohol pledged their support for Special Assistant to the President (SAP) Christopher Lawrence ‘Bong’ Go, as they urged him to run for senator in the upcoming 2019 midterm elections. Both organizations issued resolutions calling for Go’s candidacy.

The Liga ng mga Barangay ng Pilipinas – Tagbilaran chapter says it believes that having Go in the senate will be good for the country as he would then have a “platform to push for laws that would benefit the Filipino people.”

In their resolution, they said that Go can best help the Philippines if he is given the opportunity to “make laws suited to the present situation of the country.”

This sentiment is also shared by the Sangguniang Kabataan Panlungsod sa Pederasyon ng Tagbilaran, who said that Go embodies the kind of unselfish leadership that we need in the senate. “(His) attributes as a leader reflect his advocacies and goals in achieving a better nation.”

Go was in Bohol for the launching of the 11th Malasakit Center in Gov. Celestino Gallares Memorial Hospital in Tagbilaran City.

Malasakit Centers are one-stop shops that are meant to hasten the delivery of medical services and give poor patients access to free medicines.

Under the program, patients are assisted in how to avail services and financial assistance provided by the Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office (PCSO), the Philippine Amusement and Games Corporation (PAGCOR), Department of Health (DoH), and the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD).

Pooled together, the assistance can push the patient’s medical bill, including medicines, to the lowest possible amount.

Go also said that Bohol and the rest of Central Visayas will definitely benefit from the development projects of the Duterte government, especially from the Build, Build, Build program.

“‘Yang airport sa Panglao bubuksan ‘yan ni Presidente Duterte sa susunod na mga buwan at i-inagurate. Makakadagdag ito sa pasahero at incoming passengers para sa turista dito sa lugar niyo,” he said.

(President Duterte and I will be back in the coming months for the opening and inauguration of Panglao airport. This will increase incoming passengers for the improvement of tourism in the area.)

He also mentioned plans to build bridges to connect the various islands in the Visayas like Leyte to Bohol and Bohol to Cebu.

Go said that with the improved infrastructures in the region, tourism will increase, more jobs will be available, and goods can be easily moved to and from the province to benefit more Filipinos in Central Visayas.

Go also turned over construction materials to assist Marcos “Mackoy” Sieras whose housing woes recently went viral in Facebook. The materials included cement, plywood and galvanized iron sheets.

Sieras, a 48 year-old who is suffering from polio, sought help in rebuilding his home. The post got over 40,000 shares, with many netizens commenting that they hope someone will help.
