“The obvious intent of Rody is to protect the presidency and the nation from a leader who may fall to manipulation by people around her.

Hands down, Vice President Leni Robredo should get a prize for persistence after again making a pitch for herself during the recent Ramon Magsaysay Awards stating her defense against President Rody Duterte’s sharp rebuke of her poor potential as his successor.

In a Cebu speech, Rody said: “If I stop now, my crusade against drugs and if there is I said no order in this place, corruption will continue, we’re dead. You’re better off choosing a dictator in the likes of Marcos, that’s what I suggested” in assessing Robredo’s presidential qualities.

In her rebuttal through her speech in the international event, Robredo said: “Quiet courage and empathy and leaders that put in the hard work of actually transforming the lives of people are rarities in these times when dictatorship is claimed by some to be better.”

Empathy was certainly not in the mind of Robredo when she and her yellow colleagues mocked the Holocaust Memorial in Berlin by using it as background for a group photo. The still shots were even posted on social media enraging many people for the insensitivity of the yellows.

The place honors the victims of the Nazi genocide of the Jews during World War II.

Rody was being criticized on his supposed endorsement of dictatorship when he was merely stating his frank assessment on the capabilities of Robredo as he had indicated plans of cutting short his term.

Under the constitutional line of succession, Robredo would take over the reins of government if Rody relinquishes his post.

The President’s worry is about Robredo not knowing better than what her yellow handlers dictate on her.

It was Robredo, for instance, who tried to undermine the war on drugs and local law enforcers through her “palit-ulo” (change heads/bodies) statement via video-link in front of the UN Commission on Narcotics Drugs that used inaccurate figures and tales concocted by the yellow mob.

Her speech was a clear attempt at destabilization that Rody, nonetheless, let pass and merely attributed to the naivety of Robredo.

Robredo was even broadly excoriated by foreign policy experts when she once claimed that China had conducted military activities on Philippine territory when she referred to the Chinese landing of an aircraft on Woody Island which is not claimed by the Philippines nor is it located near its territory.

She also claimed that Chinese activity in the West Philippine Sea has been “the most serious threat to the Philippines since the Japanese invasion” which was far from the truth.
Robredo does not even have a clear mandate on the vice presidency that is now the subject of a protest proceeding by the Philippine Electoral Tribunal composed of magistrates of the Supreme Court.

The protest involves alleged electoral irregularities associated with the shady Smartmatic machines that showed Robredo snatching the vice presidency through a slim margin over former Sen. Bongbong Marcos.

“Empathy was certainly not in the mind of Robredo when she and her yellow colleagues mocked the Holocaust Memorial.

The obvious intent of Rody is to protect the presidency and the nation from a leader who may fall to manipulation by people around her who are, obviously, the yellow mob.

The yellow patrons of Robredo were responsible for the crime wave that Rody is in the process of ending and the drugs menace that would have taken over the entire government structure or what was referred to as narco politics under the term of former President Noynoy Aquino.

Reforms are under way but it may take time.

The proposed reforms under the Federal shift includes the election of the President and the Vice President together instead of the current separate vote that resulted in the absence of political harmony in the top government posts.

Until then, Rody’s only recourse is to keep fending off Robredo and her “broad coalition” composed of the yellows and the Reds in their ambition to retake control of government.

Rody is merely saying that Robredo’s quality as president is as bad as Aquino’s false claims in his “straight path” mantra.

Both are square pegs trying to fit in round holes.
