Metro residents taken to waterworld

A large swathe of Metro Manila was under water last Saturday until early yesterday as a result of continued torrential rain with more than 500,000 families affected in the capital.
The Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) reported 2,187,409 individuals were affected in 1,789 barangays in six regions in Luzon, including the National Capital Region.

Some 78,000 families or over 340,000 individuals were evacuated due to floods. DSWD said 190 families remained at evacuation centers as of yesterday while over 77,000 families were temporarily moved in with their relatives or friends.
Over 8,000 individuals were injured as a result of the severe weather.
Western Visayas and the rest of Luzon will continue to experience cloudy skies with scattered rains and thunderstorms.
Meanwhile, Mindanao and the rest of the Visayas will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rainshowers.
