Cock tale

Gamecocks are for the cockpit. But not for the 21 of a breeder from Barangay Kauswagan, Cagayan de Oro City.
Residents found the birds dead Sunday morning. One of the owners of the cocks, Joel Palmes Jr., was dumbfounded about what killed the fowls.
There are 15 dogs helping caretakers guard the games. Palmes did not believe his own dogs were the culprits.
However, one of the caretakers, Joel Gabo, had a suspect in mind. No, it’s not a rival breeder with a grudge.
Gabo told a reporter that a “sigbin” or a bad spirit killed the cocks based on the bites on the necks and backs of the birds.
The caretaker admitted hearing the dogs barking Saturday night. From the house, he used a flashlight to check the yard but said he saw no one.
If only he was not lazy to make the rounds that night, wild imagination would not have filled his head.
