Manila International Airport Authority (MIAA) General Manager Ed Monreal will lead today a one-of-a-kind walking activity in the Philippines dubbed “MNL Runway Run 2018.”

It is a 5K untimed fun run in one of NAIA’s most exclusive areas, its domestic runway, Runway 13/31. The event kick-off coincides with the closure of the runway.

Proceeds of the fun walk will be for the benefit of the Philippine General Hospital’s Cleft Lip Palate Foundation.

The event is also in celebration of NAIA’s inclusion in the Top 10 Most Improved Airvports in 2018 by Skytrax.

An estimated 3,000 participants will be provided with reflectorized race shirts included in the registration fee of P750.00.

Stringent security protocols will be in place to screen participants and their belongings before they are transported to the venue.

A pre and post-event program will be held at Terminal 2 remote parking area which includes warm up activities and a mini concert. Airport concessionaires were engaged to set-up kiosks to sell food items for the participants.

“This event is a two-pronged approach we are taking toward fulfilling MIAA’s corporate social responsibility,” said Monreal.
