Shave it off

At P1,878, a razor brand bought by the Department of Education for use by senior high school students in Northern Mindanao for their hairdressing class seems a cut above the rest – way above. This was discovered when a principal rejected 13 of the items when they were delivered because they were not what she had expected.
The razor’s price is now being questioned since the most expensive brand of shaver available in stores and online is only P200.
Did someone at the DepEd Central Office, which the DepEd Northern Mindanao office said overpriced the razor, profit from the procurement of the items? An ongoing investigation will soon yield an answer.
