A kingdom’s final gamble

When a kingdom is on the verge of collapse, hope can come from the most unlikely places.

Prime Video’s upcoming Korean historical drama Sacred Jewel takes viewers back to 1258, during the final years of the Goryeo Dynasty, as a group of warriors risk everything on a mission that could change the course of history.

After nearly three decades of war against the Mongols, Goryeo stands on the brink of defeat. With its people facing uncertainty and its future hanging in the balance, a special convoy is sent on a dangerous expedition to recover a sacred jewel believed to hold the power to protect the kingdom.

Leading the mission is Baek Gyul, played by Ahn Bo-hyun (Spring Fever, Flex X Cop, My Name), a young warrior whose determination and convictions are tested when duty forces him to confront the personal sacrifices behind his mission.

Joining him is veteran fighter Choi Gu, portrayed by Lee Sung-min (Reborn Rich, No Other Choice), a legendary warrior whose glory days appear to be behind him. As he returns to the battlefield, he must prove whether experience and courage can still overcome the challenges of a changing world.

The journey also intertwines with the story of Princess Wang Hee, played by Claudia Kim (Gyeongseong Creature, The Atypical Family), a royal figure whose cold exterior hides years of heartbreak. Her connection with Baek Gyul becomes a reminder that even amid war and political turmoil, human bonds can offer a reason to keep fighting.

Directed by Jung Dae-yoon (Reborn Rich, She Was Pretty) and written by Jung Hyun-min (The Nokdu Flower, Jeong DoJeon), Sacred Jewel combines battlefield action, romance, and political intrigue while exploring the resilience of people caught between survival and sacrifice.

Produced by SLL and Celltrion Entertainment, the 14-episode series also features Ha Yoon-kyoung and Yoon Kyun-sang.

Sacred Jewel premieres on 5 December exclusively on Prime Video in the Philippines and more than 240 countries and territories worldwide.
