The Police Regional Office 2 (PRO2) and the Department of Agrarian Reform Regional Office 2 (DAR RO2) signed a memorandum of partnership to expand market access for agrarian reform beneficiaries and bring affordable farm products to police personnel.

The agreement was signed at Camp Marcelo A. Adduru during the “Valley Crops for Valley Cops Market Day and Trade Check Activity.” PRO2 Regional Director PBGen Mariano C. Rodriguez and DAR RO2 Regional Director Primo C. Lara signed on behalf of their agencies.

Under the partnership, the agencies will hold the market day twice a month at PRO2’s regional headquarters. DAR RO2 will coordinate the participation of agrarian reform beneficiaries’ organizations, help ensure product quality and availability, and support a steady supply. PRO2 will provide a venue and logistical support, subject to available facilities and applicable policies, and encourage personnel to participate as buyers.

Participating organizations showcased agricultural and processed products before the signing, giving farmers an opportunity to meet prospective buyers directly. The program also included foyer honors, a guest book signing and a ribbon-cutting to open the market.

The partnership supports efforts to strengthen agricultural enterprises and improve the livelihoods of agrarian reform beneficiaries. It also aligns with the government’s Partnership Against Hunger and Poverty, which promotes inclusive growth, food security and poverty reduction in rural communities.

PRO2 and DAR RO2 said the partnership will strengthen local agricultural enterprises and build closer ties between government agencies and farming communities.
