NFA-7 assures ample rice stock for El Niño

The National Food Authority in Central Visayas (NFA-7) assured the public Friday that it has 47,054 bags of rice in stock in preparation for a strong El Niño.

NFA-7 Regional Manager Liza R. Balagot disclosed that 41,704 50-kilogram sacks were allocated for Cebu, while 4,131 sacks were for Bohol.

Negros Oriental had 620 bags, while Siquijor had 599.

She added that an additional 35,000 bags are expected to arrive by the last week of November.

Of these, 20,000 sacks will be allocated for Cebu and 15,000 for Bohol.

About 150,000 bags have already been delivered to Cebu.

NFA-7 said the supposed rice allocation for Central Visayas was 450,000 bags.
