359 Badoc residents benefit from DOLE-TUPAD program
A total of 359 residents of Badoc, Ilocos Norte, have been enlisted under the Department of Labor and Employment’s (DOLE) Tulong Panghanapbuhay sa Ating Disadvantaged Workers (TUPAD) program, providing them with temporary employment for 20 days.
The beneficiaries underwent an orientation and received personal protective equipment (PPEs) before starting their assigned community work.
The orientation, facilitated through the Municipal Public Employment Service Office (PESO) under PESO Manager Marc Anthony C. Baldoz, covered program guidelines, work responsibilities, and the proper use of safety equipment.
The implementation was formalized through a memorandum of agreement between the municipal government and DOLE Regional Office I, represented by Regional Director Honorina Dian-Baga.
The 13th Sangguniang Bayan authorized Mayor Virgilio M. Calajate to sign the agreement through Resolution No. 13-280-2026, approved during its 61st regular session on 14 September 2026.
Under the agreement, the local government will provide a counterpart equivalent to at least 20 percent of the total project cost.
Beneficiaries will receive their corresponding wages after completing the required 20 working days and complying with the program's requirements.
TUPAD is a DOLE initiative that provides temporary employment to disadvantaged workers, allowing them to earn income while undertaking community-based work.
