Every athlete deserves the opportunity to train, compete, and pursue their dreams.

But for athletes with disabilities, access to appropriate sports equipment and training resources can make a meaningful difference in their journey.

Recognizing the importance of inclusive sports, SportsPlus Foundation, the social development arm of SportsPlus PH, has partnered with Special Olympics Pilipinas to help address the equipment needs of athletes with disabilities.

Special Olympics Pilipinas is part of the global Special Olympics movement, which uses the power of sports to promote inclusion and create opportunities for people with disabilities to develop their skills, build confidence, and experience the benefits of participation in sports.

Through this partnership, SportsPlus Foundation provided equipment for various sports such as basketball, football, and badminton, among others, that meets athletes’ actual training and competition requirements on 22 October in Sta. Elena, Marikina.

By coordinating closely with Special Olympics Pilipinas, the initiative ensures the support is appropriate, relevant, and aligned with the intended beneficiaries’ needs.

For SportsPlus Foundation, supporting athletes with disabilities is part of a broader commitment to building communities where opportunities are more accessible, and every individual can participate and thrive.

“It is our privilege to turn over this equipment to Special Olympics Pilipinas as part of SportsPlus Foundation’s efforts to promote inclusive sports and expand opportunities for Filipino athletes of all abilities,” SportsPlus head of Brand Marketing Paul Macalindong said.

“SportsPlus believes that sports should be accessible to everyone, regardless of ability or background. Through this initiative, we hope to help athletes access the equipment and training support they need to develop their skills, build confidence, and pursue their full potential.”
