Sasha Lacuna celebrates Filipino farmers through ‘Ani ng Kasaganaan’ national costume at The Miss Globe 2026
Philippine representative Sasha Lacuna brings the beauty of the country’s agricultural heritage to the international stage as she proudly showcases her national costume, “Ani ng Kasaganaan: The Bountiful Harvest of the Philippines,” at The Miss Globe 2026.
Designed by Simeon Cayetano, the elaborate creation pays tribute to the hardworking Filipino farmers whose perseverance, dedication, and sacrifices continue to sustain the nation.
The costume captures the spirit of a prosperous harvest through its striking combination of gold and red. The golden elements represent abundance, prosperity, and the blessings of the Philippine soil, while the vibrant red details symbolize the courage, passion, and determination of farmers who work tirelessly to provide food for Filipino families.
One of the costume’s most distinctive features is its majestic carabao-inspired headpiece, which highlights the important role of the country’s traditional farming companion. Long regarded as a symbol of strength and endurance, the carabao represents the resilience of Filipino agricultural communities.
Complementing the headpiece is an impressive backpiece that reflects the grandeur of the country’s agricultural landscape and recognizes the countless farmers whose labor makes every successful harvest possible.
Beyond its intricate craftsmanship and dramatic presentation, “Ani ng Kasaganaan” carries a meaningful message about recognizing the people who contribute to the nation’s food security and agricultural prosperity.
Through her national costume, Lacuna celebrates not only the natural wealth of the Philippines but also the dignity of agricultural work and the enduring Filipino values of perseverance, gratitude, and resilience.
The presentation serves as a reminder that every grain harvested and every crop cultivated represents the dedication of farmers whose contributions often go unnoticed.
Lacuna’s national costume presentation was brought to life through the collaborative efforts of makeup artist Ron Adrian Fernando, hairstylist Dave Pascua, designer Simeon Cayetano, and stylist Patrick Henry Mergano. The creative team also included photographer Ian Buen, creative assistants Jairah Fajilagmago and Pia Panopio, with F&J MultiStudio providing the studio setting.
As she represents the Philippines at The Miss Globe 2026, Lacuna carries a powerful tribute to the country’s agricultural roots, reminding the international audience that the true wealth of a nation lies not only in the abundance of its land but also in the hardworking people who cultivate it.
