Quezon City is expanding digital government services and streamlining business transactions as its economy reached ₱1.4 trillion in 2025, accounting for about 6 percent of the country's gross domestic product.

In her State of the City Address, Mayor Joy Belmonte said the city is reducing paperwork, integrating government systems and expanding electronic payment options to improve services for businesses.

Home to more than 70,000 registered businesses, Quezon City ranked first among Philippine cities in revenue collection in 2025.

The city became the first local government unit to integrate its systems with the Philippine Business Hub, eGovPH and the Department of Trade and Industry's Business Name Registration System to simplify business registration.

A partnership with the Bureau of Fire Protection is also expected to streamline fire safety certification by allowing the agency to retrieve business information directly from the city's online permit system by the end of 2026.

Meanwhile, Quezon City's 142 barangays will adopt electronic payment systems linked to the city's online business permit platform, allowing business owners to pay clearance fees through GCash, Maya and other digital channels.

The reforms build on existing platforms, including QC BizEasy for business registration, QC Pay Easy for electronic payments and QC Delivers, which has delivered more than 289,000 official documents to businesses.

The city has also introduced risk-based inspections, simplifying requirements for lower-risk establishments while maintaining closer oversight of businesses requiring additional safety checks.

Belmonte said the reforms aim to ensure that economic growth translates into better public services and opportunities for residents.

“Our goal is not simply to make Quezon City a place where businesses can thrive, but to build a city where innovation creates opportunities, digitalization makes government work better for everyone, and economic growth translates into a better quality of life for every QCitizen. We will continue to break barriers, modernize our services, and build an environment where businesses can grow with confidence, because when our businesses succeed, our people succeed,” Belmonte said.
