Kathryn Bernardo and Mark Alcala chided for throwback Halloween reel

Another netizen questioned whether Bernardo’s stylist, who is Alcala’s cousin, was the reason the actress continued working with her despite criticism over some of her fashion choices.

A cousin of Lucena Mayor Mark Alcala, who also works as a stylist for Someone, Someday star Kathryn Bernardo, sparked online conversations after sharing a throwback reel featuring Bernardo and Alcala’s Halloween celebration last year.

The short video showed Bernardo and Alcala holding hands while walking around BGC with friends. Both were wearing Halloween masks, making them difficult to recognize.

However, after the reel circulated online, netizens shared their opinions about the clip and the pair’s interaction.

One netizen criticized Alcala, saying: “Attention-seeking w–re, that’s Alcala. It hurts his ego. You have an A-Lister partner but he can’t bring you to the premieres of shows and movies. Even at Halloween parties, he takes her but has to keep it on the down low.”

Others also commented on Bernardo’s Halloween look, saying the actress was still recognizable despite the costume.

“Sorry, but you still know her because of her legs. It’s really emphasized by the pants. She actually needs to change her stylist,” one fan said.

Another netizen questioned whether Bernardo’s stylist, who is Alcala’s cousin, was the reason the actress continued working with her despite criticism over some of her fashion choices.

“Is that boy her stylist cousin? Maybe that’s why, even though her outfits are often criticized for being tacky and not suiting her, she can’t seem to replace her stylist,” the commenter said.

Barbie Imperial, Sarah Lahbati compared over Halloween looks

Barbie Imperial found herself being compared to Sarah Lahbati after sharing photos of her Poison Ivy-inspired costume from the recent New Nocturnals Halloween event.

The comparison began when netizens resurfaced Lahbati’s 2013 Halloween look, which was also inspired by the same character.

Soon, the discussion turned into a “who wore it better” debate between the two actresses.

“Wala pa ring tatalo sa original. Siyempre Sarah Lahbati lang. Trying hard talaga yung isa. Lahat na lang ginagaya kay Sarah,” one fan said. (Nobody will beat the original. Of course, it’s Sarah Lahbati. The other one is really trying hard. Everything is copied from Sarah.)

“Maganda yung kay Barbie pero siguro kung i-remake ni Sarah ’to, she’d pull it off better!” another commenter said. (Barbie’s version is beautiful, but if Sarah remade this, she’d pull it off better.)

“Sarah Lahbati mas maganda, simple pero may dating. Siya ang original, si Barbie gaya-gaya,” another netizen wrote. (Sarah Lahbati is prettier, simple but has appeal. She is the original, Barbie is copying.)

However, a Barbie Imperial fan defended the actress, saying: “Obviously Barbie Imperial did it way better! The first one looks like an ordinary gown with some purse, still beautiful though, but Barbie did great with Poison Ivy.”
