An active police officer was arrested after authorities seized approximately ₱5.5 million worth of suspected shabu and several unlicensed firearms during a search warrant operation in Mapandan, Pangasinan, on Tuesday, 3 November 2026.

The Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) Region 1 identified the suspect as alias "Ramil," a police chief master sergeant and resident of Mapandan.

Authorities confiscated approximately 812.8 grams of suspected shabu with an estimated standard drug value of ₱5,527,040.

The operation was conducted under a search warrant issued by a Regional Trial Court in Dagupan City for alleged violations of Republic Act No. 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.

Joint operatives from PDEA and several Philippine National Police units recovered the suspected drugs during searches of the officer, his vehicle and residence.

Drug paraphernalia and several allegedly unlicensed firearms were also seized.

PDEA Region 1 Director Julius Paderes said the arrest demonstrated that law enforcement personnel were not exempt from prosecution for involvement in illegal drug activities.

He stressed that government employees who violate the law would be held accountable regardless of their rank or position.

The suspect remains in PDEA custody pending medical examination, drug testing and laboratory analysis of the seized evidence.

Authorities are preparing complaints under Republic Act No. 9165 and Republic Act No. 10591, or the Comprehensive Firearms and Ammunition Regulation Act, along with possible administrative charges.
