Collette Santiago to represent Philippines at World Miss University 2026 in South Korea
Mary Collette Santiago Tibayan is preparing to bring Filipino pride to the international stage after being named Binibining Unibersidad 2026 and the country's official representative to World Miss University 2026 in South Korea on November 19.
The Filipina beauty queen shared her excitement and gratitude in a heartfelt social media post, acknowledging the people and institutions that helped her achieve another important milestone in her pageant journey.
“Thank you for trusting me with this title. I am deeply honored to represent the Philippines at World Miss University 2026 in South Korea this November 19,” Santiago wrote.
For the young beauty queen, the opportunity to compete internationally represents more than personal recognition. It is also a responsibility to showcase Filipino culture, values, and excellence before a global audience.
Santiago expressed her appreciation to Arlyn Vergara and Vince Datiles for their guidance, encouragement, and confidence in her abilities.
She also paid tribute to her family, particularly her mother and loved ones from the Soliman and Santiago families, whose unwavering support has remained an important source of inspiration throughout her journey.
Her gratitude extended to friends, relatives, and schoolmates who believed in her potential even before she received the opportunity to represent the Philippines.
As a student of Far Eastern University Manila under the Department of International Studies, Santiago recognized the role of her academic institution in preparing her for the responsibilities of international representation.
“To Far Eastern University Manila and the Department of International Studies, thank you for shaping me and preparing me to represent our country on the international stage,” she shared.
The newly crowned Binibining Unibersidad also acknowledged her Pampanga supporters and the creative professionals who contributed to her preparation.
Among those she thanked were David Joeven, Mark Joel Manalansan, Therz Florez, Rafael Gregorio, and Norman Paul Yaranon for sharing their expertise, craftsmanship, and time.
Santiago reserved a special message for her pasarela coach, Raquel Valencia, whose patience and dedication helped her improve her stage presentation.
She credited Valencia for guiding her through the challenges, mistakes, and learning experiences that became part of her development as a beauty queen.
Reflecting on her journey, Santiago emphasized that wearing a crown carries responsibilities that extend beyond the recognition associated with winning a title.
“This journey has taught me that a crown is never just about recognition, but about the people who believe in you and the responsibility that comes with it,” she said.
With her international competition approaching, Santiago hopes to inspire continued support from Filipinos as she prepares to represent the country's identity and values in South Korea.
“This is only the beginning! I hope you'll continue to support me as I carry our country's name, culture, and values to the international stage,” she added.
World Miss University provides an international platform for young women to highlight education, leadership, cultural understanding, and their aspirations to contribute positively to society.
For Santiago, the upcoming competition offers an opportunity to demonstrate not only her confidence and stage presence but also the knowledge and values she has developed through her academic and personal experiences.
As she prepares for the November 19 competition, the Filipina representative carries the encouragement of her family, mentors, university community, and supporters who have accompanied her journey.
With gratitude and determination, Santiago is ready to take on the international stage, hoping to make the Philippines proud while embracing the responsibilities that come with her new title.
