NDA monitors 150 pregnant dairy cows
The National Dairy Authority (NDA) is monitoring 150 pregnant dairy cattle undergoing quarantine at the General Tinio Stock Farm in Nueva Ecija ahead of their distribution to qualified beneficiaries.
NDA Administrator Atty. Marcus Antonius T. Andaya visited the facility recently to personally check on the condition of the imported dairy cattle.
The operation at the General Tinio Stock Farm highlighted the facility’s role in providing temporary care and acclimatization for imported dairy animals before they are distributed to qualified beneficiaries.
Through the facility, the NDA manages the quarantine and acclimatization process, allowing the cattle to adjust to the country’s weather conditions before being turned over to their intended recipients.
The stock farm also provides savings for the government by maintaining its own quarantine area and demonstrating its capacity to care for imported dairy cattle.
This allows the agency to avoid relying on outsourced quarantine facilities, which would require additional government funding.
