After years away from the spotlight, Kris Aquino is considering a return to television — but only if it means sharing the screen again with longtime friend and “King of Talk” Boy Abunda.

In her emotional interview with Abunda on Fast Talk with Boy Abunda aired on 28 October, Kris revealed that while she misses being on television, a comeback would be more meaningful if she could reunite with the veteran host.

“Boy, I would love to, but I think TV without you would not be worth it for me. I think that if I ever return, I should return alongside the King of Talk,” Kris said.

The heartfelt exchange sparked excitement among fans who have followed the pair’s decades-long friendship and memorable television collaborations.

Abunda also shared his hopes of working with Kris again, saying he believes they should return to television together before eventually stepping away from the industry.

“We should really be back. I’ve always said that if I were to end my career, if I were to say goodbye, it should also be with you,”

he told Kris.

Aside from discussing a possible comeback, Kris also opened up about another way she hopes to serve Filipinos — through healthcare.

Despite coming from one of the country’s most influential political families, Kris said she has no plans to run for public office, admitting that she does not possess the qualities she admired in her late parents and brother.

“I am an Aquino, but I lack two traits that Ninoy, Cory, and Noy all shared — selflessness and simplicity. That’s why I know I’ll never be deserving of your votes,” she said, referring to her father, the late Senator Benigno “Ninoy” Aquino Jr.; her mother, former President Corazon Aquino; and her brother, former President Benigno “Noynoy” Aquino III.

However, Kris said she would consider accepting an appointed position at the Department of Health, drawing from her personal experience as a patient battling serious medical conditions.

“If ever, I hope whoever gets elected would appoint me to the Department of Health because of my experience, Boy. And they know I wouldn’t steal,” she said.
