NDA chief checks on 150 pregnant dairy cattle in Nueva Ecija
National Dairy Authority (NDA) Administrator Atty. Marcus Antonius T. Andaya visited the General Tinio Stock Farm to personally check on the condition of the 150 pregnant dairy cattle that are all undergoing quarantine on 28 October 2026.
The operation at the General Tinio Stock Farm showcased the important role of the facility for the temporary care and acclimatization of the imported dairy cattle before these are distributed to qualified beneficiaries.
Thru the said facility, the much needed quarantine and acclimitazion of the animals for the country's weather is under the management of the NDA.
The stock farm also shows its value thru the savings made by the government, since the facility provides it's own quarantine area and shows the capabilities to take care of imported dairy cattle, instead of relying on outsourced facilities that would need additional funding.
The General Tinio Stock Farm is a P59-million, flagship dairy development facility located in General Tinio, Nueva Ecija, Philippines. Jointly unveiled by the Department of Agriculture (DA) and the National Dairy Authority (NDA) on November 25, 2025, it serves as the country’s premier model for national dairy herd expansion.
The primary objective of the stock farm is to drastically reduce the Philippines' high dependence on imported milk and elevate local dairy livelihoods.
