EPD's most wanted fugitive falls

A 33-year-old district-level most wanted person facing multiple charges of qualified rape, sexual assault, and acts of lasciviousness involving a minor was arrested in Barangay Nangka, Marikina City on Sunday morning, 1 November.

The suspect was apprehended at around 9:30 a.m. inside a residence along 35th Avenue, Balubad Settlement during a simultaneous anti-criminality law enforcement operation.

Personnel of the warrant and subpoena unit of the Marikina City Police Station carried out the arrest by virtue of warrants issued by the Marikina City Regional Trial Court Branch 168.

The accused faces charges of statutory acts of lasciviousness, qualified rape of a minor, and qualified sexual assault under the Revised Penal Code.

The court recommended a total bail of P960,000 for the bailable charges, while no bail was recommended for qualified rape of a minor.

The suspect is currently under the custody of the Marikina City Police Station pending further legal proceedings.
