LIFE
Devilishly hot
The DAILY TRIBUNE brought a wicked twist to its Halloween celebration at Florida Street in Makati, transforming the workplace into a playground of devilish fashion, spooky surprises and fiery festivities with its theme, “The Devil Tarsee Wears El Niño.”
Inspired by the iconic fashion world of The Devil Wears Prada and the scorching heat of El Niño, the celebration brought together employees who traded their usual newsroom attire for creative, daring and downright haunting costumes.
The festivities were anything but ordinary, with a spread of food and refreshments keeping everyone fueled throughout the celebration. Raffle draws, exciting prizes and games added to the excitement, giving employees even more reasons to cheer, scream and celebrate.
During the celebration, DAILY TRIBUNE president and publisher Willie Fernandez reminded that the Halloween gathering has become one of the company’s cherished traditions.
“This is our eighth Halloween celebration. Tradisyon na ito (this is a tradition),” he said.
He also encouraged everyone not to forget the people who matter most in their lives.
“Don’t forget your loved ones, because even those who have passed on continue to watch over us. The people we love never truly leave us, and I can say that from my own experience. Marami akong anghel (I have many angels),” he added.
The Best Dressed recognition went to Gwen Bergado, Cheeney and Chingkee Mangcucang, Gene Galvan and Avic Clemente for serving looks that made everyone else reconsider their wardrobe choices.
Chito Lozada and Vernon Velasco took home the “Who’s the Hottest of Them All? — Hotter Than the Forecast” award for bringing enough heat to make even El Niño step aside.
Kenneth Tabornal was named “The Haunted Printer Whisperer” for his uncanny ability to revive even the most stubborn, seemingly possessed office printers. Carl Magadia received the “Paranormal Productivity Award” for getting things done at a supernatural speed, while Meanne Datoy earned “The Fast and the Financially Furious” award for her relentless pursuit of missing receipts and every centavo that needed accounting.
The Halloween celebration proved that even amid the deadlines and daily newsroom horrors, there is always time to let loose.
The celebration was made possible with the support of BCDA, Bong Go, PLDT, Amici, The Bistro Group, John Caparros, Bridges PR, Foodpanda, Jen Prieto, Lendl Fabella, Philip Anselmo, City of Dreams and Ogilvy.
