Ando finishes ninth in Worlds

Two-time Olympian Elreen Ando finished ninth overall in the women’s 61-kilogram category after a total lift of 227kgs in the IWF World Weightlifting Championships in Ningbo, China on Sunday.

Ando finished 13th in snatch with 99kgs and eighth in the clean-and-jerk with 128kgs as her road to the 2028 Los Angeles Olympics starts.

Pei Xinyi of China dominated the weight category with a total of 254kgs while teammate Yang Liuyue settled for silver with 249kgs.

Pak Jin Hae of North Korea captured the bronze medal with 243kgs.
