68 OFWs from Riyadh return home
The number of overseas Filipino workers (OFWs) from Saudi Arabia who have safely returned to the country has increased further, following the arrival of 68 OFWs from Riyadh on Saturday, 31 October, aboard Qatar Airways Flight QR928.
Their plane landed at Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) Terminal 3 in Pasay City Saturday night, following the government's repatriation assistance for Filipinos affected by the security situation in Saudi Arabia.
Upon their repatriation, OWWA immediately provided various forms of assistance to address their urgent needs and ensure their safe travel.
These include food assistance, transportation assistance for land and air travel, temporary accommodation for selected OFWs, and financial assistance.
In partnership with the Philippine Embassy and the Migrant Workers Offices in Saudi Arabia, the government remains committed to responding to the needs of Filipino workers and providing the necessary support during a crisis.
These steps are part of the directive of President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. to ensure the safety and welfare of every Filipino in every corner of the world, under the Saving Lives pillar of the UPLIFT Assistance Program.
