AZ Martinez admits emotional struggles and fear of public judgment during PBB journey
Former Pinoy Big Brother housemate AZ Martinez opened up about the emotional challenges she experienced inside Bahay ni Kuya, revealing how overthinking and worrying about public perception affected her throughout the competition.
During her appearance on Chika Cart, AZ candidly discussed one of the most difficult aspects of her reality television experience, admitting that her tendency to overanalyze situations sometimes left her emotionally overwhelmed.
According to AZ, entering the famous house did not necessarily mean leaving her personal concerns behind. Instead, unresolved matters outside the competition continued to occupy her thoughts.
“I think, inside the house, as an overthinker kasi ako, ang daming pumapasok sa utak ko and I had a lot of unfinished business sa outside world,” she shared.
The former housemate acknowledged that these lingering concerns contributed to her emotional struggles, particularly during moments when she had little control over what was happening beyond the walls of Bahay ni Kuya.
“So I think those were one of the things na may effect sa'kin emotionally. So may times na iyak-iyakin ako sa loob,” she admitted.
Aside from dealing with her personal worries, AZ revealed that she was constantly thinking about how television viewers might interpret her actions and personality.
Being isolated from the outside world made it difficult for her to determine whether audiences understood her intentions or were already criticizing her.
“And then ako kasi, may time talaga na iniisip ko lagi anong iniisip ng other people about me, to the point na io-overthink ko na oh my god, bash na siguro ako sa labas. Paglabas ko totoo naman,” she revealed.
Her admission highlighted the emotional pressure that reality television contestants can experience, especially when their everyday behavior becomes the subject of public discussion and social media commentary.
For AZ, the uncertainty surrounding people's opinions became an additional burden on top of the challenges and interpersonal dynamics inside the house.
Her experience also demonstrated how the psychological demands of reality television can extend beyond completing tasks, building friendships, and surviving nominations.
While viewers witness the entertaining and dramatic moments of the competition, housemates may simultaneously struggle with self-doubt, anxiety about public perception, and unresolved personal issues.
By speaking openly about her experience, AZ offered audiences a more personal understanding of the difficulties she faced during her stay.
Her reflections also serve as a reminder that behind the personalities seen on television are individuals navigating real emotions and vulnerabilities.
Despite the difficult moments, AZ's willingness to revisit her experience shows her growing openness about the realities of living under public scrutiny.
For the former PBB housemate, life inside Bahay ni Kuya was not simply about competing or gaining recognition. It was also an experience that exposed her insecurities and challenged her emotionally, particularly when she worried about how the outside world would receive her.
