The National Police Commission (Napolcom) has launched an investigation into physical abuse allegations against a member of the Philippine National Police (PNP) Aviation Security Group, including claims that he pointed a firearm at his former partner and caused her to miscarry.

Napolcom officials presented the complainant, a resident of Muntinlupa City, alongside the accused officer, Police Cpl. Rogen Cain, during a press briefing at the commission’s central office Friday.

In her sworn statement, the complainant detailed alleged incidents of physical violence dating back to before 24 August 2021.

She alleged that Cain pointed a gun at her and kicked her, causing the loss of their unborn child, and subsequently strangled, punched and stabbed her with a tactical ballpen knife.

Cain denied the allegations, calling the complaint fabricated. He told reporters he had served a 60-day suspension imposed by the PNP Internal Affairs Service regarding a previous physical abuse complaint filed by the same woman, claiming all related criminal charges had been dismissed.
