BDO Unibank Inc. reported a net income of P63.6 billion in the first nine months of 2026, slightly higher than the P63.1 billion recorded in the same period last year, as loan growth and stronger core banking operations supported its performance.

The bank posted a return on equity of 13.1 percent, while pre-provision operating profit increased 10 percent, reflecting higher lending activity and disciplined cost management.

Double-digit expansion across all loan segments

Net interest income grew 11 percent year-on-year as gross customer loans expanded 16 percent to P4.1 trillion, outpacing the banking industry’s 11 percent growth. The increase was supported by double-digit expansion across all loan segments.

Total deposits also rose 11 percent, while current and savings account deposits increased 5 percent. Non-interest income grew 3 percent, and operating expense growth remained within single-digit levels.

Asset quality continues to improve

BDO said asset quality continued to improve despite the expansion of its loan portfolio. Its non-performing loan (NPL) ratio declined to 1.60 percent from 1.77 percent a year earlier, while NPL coverage remained at 132 percent.

The bank’s shareholders’ equity increased 6 percent, with book value per share also rising 6 percent to P123.60. Its common equity Tier 1 capital ratio stood at 12.6 percent, reflecting its capital position.

BDO said its diversified business model, financial position and market presence would support its long-term growth objectives amid changing market conditions.
