An additional 45 overseas Filipino workers (OFWs) and five dependents from Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, safely returned to the Philippines on Thursday, 29 October, aboard Gulf Air flight GF154.

The group arrived at Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) Terminal 3 in Pasay City through a voluntary repatriation led by the Department of Migrant Workers (DMW), in cooperation with the Overseas Workers Welfare Administration (OWWA), amid the ongoing tension in the Middle East.

To date, a total of 512 OFWs and dependents have been repatriated by the government from 19 October.

In accordance with the directive of President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. under the government's UPLIFT initiative, returning OFWs and their dependents were immediately provided with medical, financial, food, and transportation assistance to their respective provinces to address their needs upon returning to the country.

The immediate assistance is part of the Saving Lives component of the government's Unified Package for Livelihoods, Industry, Food, Transport (UPLIFT) initiative, which focuses on the safety and welfare of Filipinos affected by the crisis.
