Authorities will establish 529 police assistance desks and 514 motorist assistance centers to assist cemetery visitors and holiday travelers. Another 46 border and strategic control points will be activated across the region.
Five major cemeteries expected to draw a combined 426,000 visitors will receive closer security monitoring.
These are Manila Memorial Cemetery in Dasmariñas City, Cavite; Sta. Felomina Cemetery in Biñan City, Laguna; Eternal Garden in Barangay Balagtas, Batangas City; Sympathy Memorial and Columbarium in Barangay San Isidro, Angono, Rizal; and St. Ferdinand Cemetery in Barangay Ibabang Dupay, Lucena City, Quezon.
Baccay urged the public to cooperate with authorities, refrain from bringing prohibited items into cemeteries and report crimes or emergencies through Unified 911 for immediate assistance.
PRO4A also launched its “B.E.S.T. in Every Step” magazine, highlighting the regional office’s accomplishments during Baccay’s first 97 days as regional director.
