Anti-narcotics operatives seized more than half a kilogram of suspected shabu from a man who had previously been arrested in a drug case and released after entering into a plea bargain, authorities said.

The operation was conducted at around 6:50 p.m. on 28 October in Purok 8, Barangay Cogon, Tagbilaran City, by the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) in Bohol, Tagbilaran City police and the Bohol Maritime Police.

PDEA Region 7 director Joel B. Plaza identified the suspect by the alias Bon, 30, an unemployed resident.

Authorities said Bon had been arrested in June 2026 for alleged violations involving the sale and possession of illegal drugs. He entered into a plea bargain and was released in August after serving his sentence.

During the latest operation, authorities recovered 10 packs of suspected shabu weighing a total of 577.07 grams, with an estimated standard drug price of P3,924,076.

Other items seized included buy-bust money, a mobile phone and non-drug evidence.
