Police seize P1.15-M shabu
Police seized suspected shabu worth a total of P1,157,360 in two anti-illegal drug operations in Naga City on 27 to 29 October.
The operations were conducted under search warrants issued by the Regional Trial Court (RTC) in Naga City.
In the latest operation, conducted at around 1:01 a.m. on 29 October, police arrested a 51-year-old man in Barangay Peñafrancia.
The search warrant was issued by RTC Branch 21 Executive Judge Pablo Cabillan Formaran III.
Authorities recovered two knot-tied plastic sachets and 11 heat-sealed sachets containing suspected shabu, with a combined weight of 141.2 grams and an estimated value of P960,160.
Police also reported the recovery of a .45-caliber firearm and a loaded Colt MK IV Series 80 pistol. The number and description of the firearms should be verified against the original police inventory, as the report’s wording may indicate either one or two weapons.
A check of the Crime Incident Reporting and Analysis System showed that the suspect had two previous cases involving alleged violations of Republic Act 9165, dated 23 August 2017, and 20 August 2022.
In a separate operation at around 8:53 p.m. on 27 October, another man was arrested in Barangay Igualdad under a search warrant issued by RTC Branch 22 Judge Melita Pilar Briñas-Agbayani.
Authorities recovered eight sachets of suspected shabu weighing a total of 29 grams, with an estimated value of P197,200.
Records in the Investigation Solution System showed that the second suspect was facing an ongoing trial for a previous drug-related charge dated 14 November 2021.
Police said additional charges would be filed against the suspects in connection with the latest operations.
The seized substances will be subjected to laboratory examination as investigators complete the documentation and case preparation.
