Iwa Moto reveals why she chose family and peace of mind over showbiz career
Former actress Iwa Moto has opened up about one of the most difficult decisions of her life—walking away from the entertainment industry to protect her mental and emotional well-being.
During her appearance on GTV’s Chika Cart, Iwa candidly recalled the personal struggles that eventually led her to leave show business, revealing that she had reached a point when she needed to choose between her career and her peace of mind.
“I had to choose between my sanity or my career. I was in a very dark place before so I wanted to step out,” Iwa shared.
The actress, who became a familiar face on Philippine television through her acting projects, admitted that leaving the spotlight was a necessary decision during a challenging chapter of her life.
While stepping away from an established career was not necessarily easy, Iwa eventually discovered a different kind of happiness when she started building her own family.
“And then luckily, I found my family, nagkaroon ako ng anak, and doon ako nag-focus,” she continued.
Motherhood, according to Iwa, gave her a renewed sense of purpose and helped her embrace a life away from the demands and pressures of show business.
Rather than looking back with regret, the former actress expressed gratitude for the opportunity to spend precious moments with her children.
“Maybe that's the reason bakit naging madali siya, kasi I got to spend time with my kids,” she explained.
Her revelation offered a glimpse into the personal sacrifices that sometimes come with a career in entertainment, where public recognition and professional success do not always guarantee personal happiness.
For Iwa, choosing to prioritize her family became a turning point that allowed her to focus on what mattered most.
Although she once enjoyed the excitement of being in front of the cameras, her latest reflections suggest that fulfillment can also be found in a quieter life beyond the spotlight.
Her story serves as a reminder that success is not always measured by fame, popularity, or the number of projects an artist receives, but also by the peace and happiness one finds in making difficult life choices.
For Iwa Moto, stepping away from show business was more than a career decision. It was a personal choice to embrace motherhood, rediscover herself, and build a life centered on family and peace of mind.
