Police rescued two minors allegedly abducted from Pasay City and arrested a 37-year-old suspect in Pampanga, authorities said.

The children, aged 11 and three, were allegedly taken from Pasay City on 24 October without their mother’s consent.

The suspect, identified only by the alias Perdi, was arrested on 26 October in Barangay Malpitic, City of San Fernando, Pampanga, in an operation conducted by the Pasay City Police Station and Pampanga police.

Women and Children Protection Desk personnel and social workers also assisted in the operation.

Police said the suspect was the former partner of the complainant and the biological father of the younger child.

The suspect is facing a possible complaint for forcible abduction under Article 342 of the Revised Penal Code and violations of Republic Act 7610, or the Special Protection of Children Against Abuse, Exploitation and Discrimination Act.

Authorities also disclosed that a separate case involving the alleged sexual assault of the older child had previously been filed and was undergoing preliminary investigation.

After his arrest, the suspect was informed of his constitutional rights. He reportedly remained silent during questioning and was brought to the Women and Children Protection Desk office.

The children were brought for appropriate assistance, while the suspect underwent medical examination at the Pasay City General Hospital.
