Authorities intercepted three unclaimed luggages at the Arrival International Secondary Inspection Area of Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) Terminal 3 in Pasay City containing 7,335 grams of suspected Marijuana Kush concealed in food-labeled aluminum packaging on 26 October.

The suspected illegal drugs were discovered by members of the NAIA Inter-Agency Drug Interdiction Task Group during the Bureau of Customs X-ray screening, manual inspection and PDEA K-9 paneling.

The luggage items were linked to two passengers who arrived from Bangkok, Thailand on 24 September with the seized substances carrying an estimated street value of P7,335,000.

The seized suspected illegal drugs are now under the custody of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency for proper disposition.

"The recovery of more than seven kilograms of suspected Marijuana Kush is proof of the continuous intensification of operations by the PNP AVSEGROUP, in cooperation with government agencies, to prevent our airports from being used for transporting illegal drugs," said PNP AVSEGROUP Director Police Brigadier General Dionisio Bartolome Jr.
