LANAO DEL NORTE — Police have intensified security preparations across the province ahead of the observance of All Saints' Day and All Souls' Day on 1 and 2 November.

Lanao del Norte Police Provincial Office (PPO) Director Col. Leo De Leon Sua said additional personnel would be deployed to cemeteries, memorial parks, churches, transportation terminals and other public areas where large crowds are expected.

Sua said the provincial police are coordinating with local government units, law enforcement agencies and community volunteers to strengthen security and emergency response operations.

The measures include increased foot and mobile patrols, checkpoints, Oplan Bakal and Oplan Sita operations, and closer monitoring of crowded areas.

Uniformed and plainclothes officers will also be deployed along major roads, commercial establishments and transportation hubs to deter criminal activities and assist the public.

Police will conduct intelligence monitoring, threat assessments and additional security checks to identify potential risks.

"We have strengthened our police presence and operational preparedness to prevent criminal activities and respond promptly to any untoward incidents. We also encourage everyone to remain vigilant, observe safety precautions, and cooperate with our police personnel. Through our collective efforts, we can make UNDAS 2026 a peaceful, safe, and meaningful occasion for every family," Sua said.

Authorities also reminded cemetery visitors and travelers to secure their homes before leaving, safeguard personal belongings and follow traffic regulations.

Motorists were advised to use designated parking areas, while cemetery visitors were warned against bringing prohibited items into burial grounds.

Sua urged residents to immediately report suspicious individuals, unattended belongings or unusual activities to the nearest police station.
