Alice Dixson opens up about happy love life, motherhood and past mistakes

Veteran actress Alice Dixson is embracing one of the happiest chapters of her life, finding fulfillment in motherhood, a stable relationship and a renewed appreciation for the career that has kept her in show business for decades.

In a candid interview on GMA Network’s Fast Talk with Boy Abunda, the actress shared personal revelations about her longtime partner, her daughter Aura, her younger years in the entertainment industry and her unforgettable viral moment with fellow actresses Marian Rivera and Anne Curtis.

When host Boy Abunda asked about the current state of her love life, Alice responded with a smile, saying she could not ask for anything more.

“Never been better. Fulfilled. Happy. Content… because, you know, everything that I’ve wanted in my life has arrived in this chapter,” Alice shared, adding that she is now focused on taking care of the happiness she has found.

Alice also revealed that her partner, whom she has largely kept away from the public spotlight, is now in the Philippines.

According to the actress, she personally requested that he consider working in the country so they could spend more time together as a family.

She explained that her daughter’s father works in the hotel industry, a profession that previously required frequent travel.

Because of his work commitments, Alice and their daughter often traveled to visit him wherever he was assigned.

However, she eventually asked him to explore employment opportunities in the Philippines, believing that being physically present for their daughter was important.

Alice emphasized that children can experience emotional difficulties when their parents live separately, even when both parents maintain a harmonious relationship.

For the actress, keeping her family together has become one of her greatest priorities.

Motherhood changes everything

Beyond her romantic relationship, Alice became emotional and reflective when discussing her journey to motherhood and the profound influence of her daughter Aura.

Describing her decade-long journey toward becoming a mother, Alice called Aura the greatest achievement of her life.

“It was a long one but I must say that Aura is my magnum opus in life. She’s my continuing journey of always wanting to motivate myself.”

The actress admitted that raising her daughter has transformed her outlook on life, inspiring her to become more patient, responsible and compassionate.

“She is my inspiration and my motivation to become a better person. I never really knew how much motherhood could change me for the better.”

For Alice, her greatest aspiration is no longer measured solely by professional accomplishments but by the kind of person her daughter will eventually become.

“And I want to nurture someone to become a better version of themselves more than what I have achieved.”

Her heartfelt reflections highlighted how motherhood has given her a renewed sense of purpose beyond the entertainment industry.

Alice admits being unprofessional during her younger years

The interview also took a surprising turn when Alice openly acknowledged mistakes she made during the early years of her acting career, including her past working relationship with veteran actress Dina Bonnevie.

Alice admitted that she was frequently late to filming schedules because she did not initially take her responsibilities as an actress seriously.

“I was already an actress when I was 17 and I did it because it was fun. I didn’t really treat it as work,” she recalled.

Looking back, she acknowledged that she failed to give her profession the respect and dedication it deserved during her teenage years.

She also admitted that her repeated tardiness contributed to the tension between her and Dina, who reportedly became frustrated with her behavior on set.

Alice explained that during her younger years, she enjoyed nightlife and often stayed out late dancing and socializing.

“When I was younger, I was like that. I would always be in the clubs also late at night. In my 20s, I was always dancing. I was always having a good time.”

She even confessed that she sometimes claimed to be feeling unwell to avoid reporting to work in the morning after staying out late.

Her attitude eventually changed when she was given another opportunity through a project associated with producer Mother Lily Monteverde.

Alice said the second chance helped her realize how much she genuinely loved acting and how important it was to value the opportunities given to her.

Looking back, she now recognizes the importance of professionalism, discipline and respecting the people she works with in the entertainment industry.

Three Dyesebels in one viral moment

On a lighter note, Alice also shared the amusing story behind her viral dance video with Marian Rivera and Anne Curtis, three actresses who have portrayed the iconic mermaid character Dyesebel.

According to Alice, the spontaneous collaboration began during rehearsals when she approached Marian about creating a TikTok video together.

“I spoke to Marian (Rivera) before, during rehearsals. I said, ‘Can we do like a TikTok or something?’ She said, ‘Sure.’”

Before they were introduced as judges at an event, Anne noticed the two actresses talking backstage and became curious about their plans.

Alice then invited Anne to join them, and the three eventually performed a playful dance routine.

She recalled that Anne even helped teach them some of the dance movements.

Interestingly, Alice initially failed to realize the significance of having three actresses who had portrayed Dyesebel appearing together in one video.

It was her business coordinator who pointed out the connection before she uploaded the clip.

Alice was amused to discover that the spontaneous gathering brought together two television Dyesebels and one film Dyesebel.

The unexpected reunion quickly caught the attention of netizens, bringing together three memorable portrayals of the beloved Filipino mermaid character.

What started as a simple backstage activity became a nostalgic moment for fans who had followed the different adaptations of Dyesebel through the years.
