Farm Fresh and Akari collide to build momentum and start a win streak in the Premier Volleyball League (PVL) Season 10 Siklab series today at the Ninoy Aquino Stadium.
Both coming off morale-boosting victories, the 1 p.m. clash will be an explosive one as the race for the semifinals berths intensify.
The Foxies hope to string a second straight win after a narrow reverse sweep escape over crowd darling Choco Mucho, 20-25, 26-28, 25-23, 25-23, 25-13, last Thursday.
Farm Fresh is tied with the Flying Titans in third with a 2-1 win-loss record.
Veterans Mylene Paat-Rezanova, Ces Molina and Royse Tubino have been playing in their vintage form, complementing the production of young guns reigning league Most Valuable Player Trisha Tubu, Jonna Perdido and Rizza Cruz.
The Foxies are banking on their balanced effort and depth to remain inside the top four.
“Our mindset is to support each other. So, whoever is inside the court and those fielded by Coach (Koji Tsuzurabara) should be supporting each other,” Rezanova said.
The Chargers snapped a two-game slide and barged in the win column after sweeping PLDT, 25-18, 25-19, 25-22, a week ago.
Akari is in sixth to seventh in a two-way logjam with the High Speed Hitters with a 1-2 slate.
“We have to be more consistent when it comes to receiving, passing, and we should not lose our sense of leadership,” Chargers captain Justine Jazareno said.
“Even if someone makes a mistake, it's normal, there’s no perfect player so I think that’s one thing that we should look forward every time,” she added.
Eli Soyud, Fifi Sharma and Ivy Lacsina will be in the forefront of Akari’s charge.
Meanwhile, Choco Mucho is eager to get back on the right track when it takes on winless Galeries Tower at 6 p.m.
Led by the explosive duo of Sisi Rondina-Rosales and Eya Laure, the Flying Titans look to turn their recent disappointment into motivation against the struggling Highrisers.
Galeries Tower is still searching for answers after dropping its first three matches, managing only two set victories along the way.
