Fall gal
A 101-year-old man in China recently went viral on Chinese social media for still being alive despite an apparently unhealthy diet.
Lu Shizeng, from Zhejiang province, spends his monthly old-age allowance of 800 yuan from the government on food, eating meals consisting of half a bowl of rice and a whole plate of crabs, his caregiver said, according to the South China Morning Post (SCMP).
He also drinks chilled sugary carbonated drinks such as Coca-Cola and Sprite, the caregiver added.
However, Lu also loves to eat fresh fruits and vegetables while getting ample sleep, which somehow balances his high-cholesterol and high-sugar diet. Netizens were impressed by Lu’s lifestyle, with one expressing envy over the centenarian’s good physical condition.
Meanwhile, a woman from Hunan province in central China also recently went viral for her miraculous survival after a very serious accident last year.
On 12 October, the online influencer, who uses the handle @wananan, returned to her account after an almost 17-month hiatus and shared how she recovered, SCMP reported.
Her comeback video received 1.7 million likes and 100,000 comments, while her followers increased from 100,000 to 250,000.
@wananan said she was thankful to the medical team at the Third Xiangya Hospital of Central South University for saving her life after she suffered traumatic injuries.
She underwent a 14-hour emergency surgery to repair multiple bone fractures and a damaged cervical spine and organs, stop intracranial bleeding, and amputate her lower right leg.
The 27-year-old suffered the injuries after falling from the 35th floor of a building in June 2025.
@wananan was lucky to hit a tree and then some bushes, which cushioned her fall and helped prevent a fatal outcome, according to SCMP.
