Suzuki adds Shadow to Raider
Suzuki Philippines has added a new version of its Raider R150 to the local market, with a P127,000 price tag and a choice of two plain colors that leave room for owners to personalize their motorcycles.
The Raider R150 Shadow Edition comes in Solid Black and Pearl Bright Ivory. The new edition costs P3,000 less than the Raider R150 Blade Edition, although both use the same engine and basic equipment.
The launch follows Suzuki’s major update of the Raider series in November 2025. That release introduced the fifth-generation Raider R150 Blade Edition and Raider PRO, with changes to the bodywork and several mechanical and electrical features.
This time, Suzuki has concentrated on appearance rather than performance. The black version has a uniform dark finish that gives the motorcycle a more reserved look. The ivory option provides a lighter alternative while keeping the same body design.
The Shadow Edition uses a 147cc, liquid-cooled, fuel-injected, four-valve single-cylinder engine. Output is rated at 13.5kW, or about 18.1hp, at 10,000rpm. Maximum torque is 13.8Nm at 8,500rpm. Power goes through a six-speed manual transmission.
It also retains the Suzuki Clutch Assist System introduced with the updated Raider range last year. The system reduces the effort needed to operate the clutch lever. Its slipper function also limits engine braking during aggressive downshifts and helps reduce rear-wheel hop.
Other equipment includes a digital instrument panel, LED lighting and disc brakes at both ends. Suzuki lists a curb weight of 112kg, a seat height of 765mm and a four-liter fuel tank. Those figures are the same as the Blade Edition.
The revised Raider range also adopted a direct-current electrical system in place of the previous alternating-current arrangement. Suzuki said the change provides a steadier voltage for the lights and other electrical components.
Riders who need to charge a phone can add a USB charging port, although it does not come as standard equipment. Suzuki lists the port as an accessory for this version of the Raider. The built-in USB outlet is a feature of the separate Raider PRO.
The Blade Edition comes in Metallic Matte Blue, Pearl Bright Ivory, Candy Matte Bordeaux Red and Metallic Matte Fibroin Gray. Its suggested retail price is P130,000. Pearl Bright Ivory is available in both editions, so the distinction goes further than the color names.
Suzuki has also prepared two optional decal sets for the Raider series. Owners can choose between Pintados and Sarimanok, with each set priced at P990.
The Pintados decals draw on traditional body markings associated with the Pintados of the Visayas. The Sarimanok design uses the well-known bird figure from Maranao culture. Both provide an alternative to the racing stripes and graphic patterns commonly seen on sporty underbone motorcycles.
