Pag-Ibig eyes wider home ownership with lower loan rates
Organized by Pag-IBIG along with the Department of Human Settlements and Urban Development, the 2026 Housing Expo highlighted financing options under the government’s Expanded Pambansang Pabahay para sa Pilipino (4PH) Program, which seeks to strengthen cooperation between the public and private sectors to increase the supply of affordable housing.
Pag-IBIG Fund, has brought together more than 80 property developers for its biggest-ever national housing expo, expanding opportunities for Filipino families to find affordable homes through government-backed financing.
Pag-IBIG Fund chief executive officer Marilene C. Acosta described the 2026 Housing Expo last 19 to 20 October which saw an estimated 40,000 participants at the SMX Convention Center Manila at the MOA Complex in Pasay City as a milestone for the agency, saying, “I am happy to announce that we are making history today.”
Longtime partners’ support
Acosta welcomed the participation of leading property developers like DMCI Homes, and thanked the agency’s longtime partners for their continued support in helping members acquire homes.
“As our developer partners deliver more quality homes at more affordable prices, Pag-IBIG Fund provides more affordable financing so that more families can afford to buy them,” Acosta said.
She added that the initiative aims to give more Filipinos the opportunity to own homes suited to their family’s needs and located near their workplaces.
Genuine opportunity to own affordable homes
“It is not only about providing more housing options, but also about giving more Filipino families a genuine opportunity to own their homes through affordable means,” Acosta said.
The expo, organized by Pag-IBIG along with the Department of Human Settlements and Urban Development, highlighted financing options under the government’s Expanded Pambansang Pabahay para sa Pilipino (4PH) Program, which seeks to strengthen cooperation between the public and private sectors to increase the supply of affordable housing.
Qualified buyers of socialized and affordable housing accessed a subsidized interest rate of 3 percent. Other housing loan borrowers availed themselves of promotional rates of 4.5 percent and 5.75 percent, while eligible Pag-IBIG members borrowed up to P10 million.
Special prices and incentives
Participating developers offered special prices and incentives, while Pag-IBIG Fund members also explored acquired properties with discounts of up to 30 percent.
Following the national expo, similar housing events are scheduled to take place in Bacolod and Davao, extending the agency’s effort to bring housing options closer to more Filipino families.
