Kuya Bong reaffirms TESDA livelihood push
Senator Christopher “Bong” Go reiterated his commitment to expanding technical education, employment generation, and sustainable livelihood programs during a graduation ceremony for technical-vocational trainees in Barangay La Dicha last Friday.
The ceremony, held at BAC Jazz Farm, celebrated 50 graduates who completed specialized agricultural courses administered by the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA).
Of the graduates, 25 completed training in Agricultural Crops Production National Certificate II (NC II), while 25 finished courses in Animal Production (Poultry-Chicken) NC II.
The vocational training initiative was spearheaded by Zamboanga Sibugay Provincial Board Member Boyet Yambao, who served as the program’s proponent.
Congratulating the graduates, Go stressed that vocational education provides vital tools to enhance agricultural productivity, generate self-employment, and bolster local food security in rural areas.
Staff members from Go’s office distributed relief packs, health supplements, apparel, and recreational equipment to the graduates following the event.
The senator highlighted his pending legislative measures aimed at institutionalizing government economic support for rural workers, including Senate Bill No. 177, or the proposed Rural Employment Assistance Program, and Senate Bill No. 2247, known as the Sustainable Livelihood Program Act.
Go praised TESDA trainers, local officials, and community leaders for delivering practical skills training to residents in Mindanao.
“We will continue to serve you because serving others is my passion, and I believe that service to the people is service to God and Allah,” Go said.
