Etiqa Philippines earns ASEAN corporate governance honors
Insurance provider Etiqa Philippines earned its third consecutive Two-Golden Arrow recognition at the 2026 Golden Arrow Awards, affirming the firm's compliance with regional corporate governance and ethical management standards.
Organized by the Institute of Corporate Directors, the annual awards evaluate Philippine publicly listed firms and insurance providers using the ASEAN Corporate Governance Scorecard and the Corporate Governance Scorecard.
The Two-Golden Arrow designation recognizes high performance across key indicators, including shareholder rights, stakeholder relations, institutional sustainability, public disclosure, and board oversight.
"Trust is built when people know they can count on us, especially when they need protection most," said Anthony Lou Bernabe, president and chief executive officer of Etiqa Philippines.
"This recognition strengthens our resolve to remain accountable to our customers, uphold the promises we make, and deliver on our commitments," he added.
Atty. Rolando Panes Jr., senior vice president for legal and corporate secretarial affairs, noted that maintaining the distinction reflects consistent internal controls across the organization.
"Good governance is reflected in the discipline behind every decision, the rigor of our oversight, and the transparency with which we account for our actions," Panes said. "Sustaining these practices is fundamental to protecting stakeholder interests."
Etiqa Philippines operates as the local insurance and takaful arm of Malaysia-based Maybank Group.
