DHSUD, housing agencies mark National Shelter Month 2026 with highlights
The Department of Human Settlements and Urban Development (DHSUD) highlighted key housing initiatives during the week of October 19-23 as part of the monthlong celebration of National Shelter Month (NSM) 2026, with the theme “Tahanan. Pamayanan. Kinabukasan.”
Graced by no less than President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr., a major highlight was the 2nd National Housing Expo 2026, led by DHSUD and Pag-IBIG Fund on October 19-20 at the SMX Convention Center Manila in Pasay City. The biggest ever housing expo to date, the event recorded 45,700 online registrations. Prospective buyers explored housing options, promotional prices, and subsidized Pag-IBIG housing loan rates of 3%, 4.5%, and 5.75% under the Expanded Pambansang Pabahay para sa Pilipino (4PH) Program, subject to applicable guidelines and loan terms. More than 30,000 flocked the expo which featured around 80 developers offering 50,000 housing units.
Expanding private-sector participation, DHSUD Secretary Jose Ramon Aliling witnessed the signing of separate Memoranda of Understanding with Pag-IBIG Fund of Federal Land and Megaworld as the latest top developers to join the Expanded 4PH Program, providing qualified Filipino families with more housing options.
The week also saw 30 members of Immaculada Homeowners Association Inc. Phase 1 in Antipolo City receive Transfer Certificates of Title (TCTs) under the Enhanced Community Mortgage Program (ECMP) after nearly two decades of waiting; 160 beneficiaries of the GMA Ville Lot 110 Housing Project in Cebu City receive Certificates of Entitlement (COEs) after more than 20 years; and 175 low-income families receive the symbolic keys to their homes at Jubilee Ville Guiguinto-1 in Guiguinto, Bulacan.
These milestones reflect DHSUD’s continuing efforts to expand housing opportunities, strengthen government-private sector partnerships, secure land ownership, and ensure dignified lives and a brighter future through safe, decent, and affordable shelters.
