Yulo falls short of floor exercise gold

The drought for a second gold medal in the men’s floor exercise in the FIG Artistic Gymnastics World Championships continues for Carlos Yulo after finishing eighth in the final in Rotterdam, Netherlands on Saturday.

Yulo’s score of 13.233 points was not enough as he has finished outside of the podium as he has yet to follow up on his 2019 triumph in his pet apparatus in Stuttgart , Germany.

Frederick Richard of the United States emerged victorious with 14.633 while Filipino-British gymnast Jake Jarman settled for silver with 14.600.

Former world champion Artem Dolgopyat of Israel clinched a bronze medal with 14.466 to complete the podium.

Yulo still has a chance to bring home a gold medal as he vies in the vault final on Sunday at 8 p.m. (Manila time).

The two-time Olympic gold medalist will be defending the mint he won in Jakarta last year.
