School opens largest classroom structure
The building will initially accommodate graduating Grade 12 students, with full occupancy expected by the start of the 2027 school year.
Lumbia National High School in Cagayan de Oro City inaugurated its largest facility, a four-storey classroom building, on 22 October.
Building No. 15 is intended to ease overcrowding at the school, which has 4,160 students. Limited classroom space had forced some classes to follow half-day schedules, reducing instructional time.
The project was pursued by Cagayan de Oro City 1st District Rep. Lordan Suan, who worked with the Department of Public Works and Highways’ 1st City Engineering District to expedite bidding and construction after funding delays in 2024.
Student Government President Marianne Dennisse Rivera welcomed the new facility, saying it would help address overcrowded classrooms and benefit future students.

Suan also announced plans for a second similar classroom building on the campus. The source also cited completed pathways and a covered court in Barangay Lumbia as other projects undertaken in 2026.
