A former staff member of Laguna Board Member Angelica Jones Alarva holds documents outside the Office of the Ombudsman after filing an administrative complaint against the provincial legislator on Friday, 23 October 2026.

A former staff member of Laguna Board Member Angelica Jones Alarva filed an administrative complaint against her before the Office of the Ombudsman on Friday, 23 October, alleging verbal and psychological abuse.

The complaint involves grave misconduct and conduct prejudicial to the best interest of the service.

The complainant alleged that Alarva’s treatment caused severe depression, post-traumatic stress and anxiety disorders.

In a video statement, the former employee said she had endured the alleged treatment for a long time and attributed her mental health difficulties to it. She also said being out of work was something she could accept, but alleged that the situation continued to disturb her peace.

In a separate statement concerning former employee Samantha Eloisa Alaisa, Alarva said Alaisa had been dismissed from her office in 2025.

The board member attributed the dismissal to alleged irregularities in processing work and handling documents, as well as concerns about honesty. She said the documents included those involving her office and programs of Laguna Governor Marisol “Sol” Aragones.

Alarva also alleged that documents were being withheld or delayed, potentially affecting requests from mayors, barangay officials and residents.

She stressed that government employees must perform their duties according to established rules and ensure timely processing of public requests.

The board member called for allegations of harassment, political motives and reputational attacks to be examined fairly and supported by evidence, with respect for due process and the rights of those involved.
